Royal Caribbean has confirmed its “Artist Discovery Program” will continue this summer aboard the new Icon Class ship, Legend of the Seas.
Designed to offer emerging local artists the opportunity to showcase their work to global audiences, the program expands to give artists from across the Caribbean and Central America the opportunity to showcase their works to the millions of vacationers who will set sail in the coming years. Artists can submit their proposals from today until March 1 here.

“Our artist discovery programme is a testament to how Royal Caribbean creates culturally immersive experiences for guests, connecting vacationers of all ages to the destinations we visit around the world,” said Michael Bayley, president and CEO, Royal Caribbean. “We are excited to expand the program to include emerging artists from Central America alongside those from the Caribbean and increase the number of large-scale mural locations at Legend from four to six, creating more opportunities for artists to highlight the diverse destinations we visit through their work.”
Selected artists will be commissioned to paint large-scale murals that will create a visually immersive guest experience at six highly visible locations aboard Legend, including: the Royal Promenade neighborhood, the Legend boarding area, the Sundeck Lobby Suite and the Sundeck Suite. Redefining how art lives, moves, and inspires at sea, the program will celebrate the creative spirit of the Caribbean and Central America.
Artists interested in participating in the “Artist Discovery Program” must submit:
- Five samples of conceptual work: The work must be original and cannot be published or on display.
- A brief description of the artist to help explain their work, inspiration, and other details about the pieces submitted.
- A copy of your resume.
The next cohort of emerging artists will join those who have participated in Icon of the Seas, Star of the Seas and the vacation brand’s newly opened exclusive destination, Royal Beach Club Paradise Island in Nassau, The Bahamas. The artist discovery programs at Icon and Star highlighted Caribbean artists who emulate the rhythm and vibrancy of the region, while the Royal Beach Club Paradise Island program exclusively showcased local Bahamian talent, capturing the unique energy and spirit of The Bahamas.
Legend will raise the bar for European summers in 2026 with seven-night adventures in the Western Mediterranean from Barcelona, Spain, and Rome (Civitavecchia), Italy. The daring adventures on board continue ashore, whether traveling back in time at the Colosseum in Rome, enjoying the flavors of the fishing villages of Provence (Marseille), France, or immersing yourself in the local cultures of Naples, Italy, and Palma de Mallorca, Spain. In November 2026, Legend will make its major Caribbean debut in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, with six-night Western Caribbean getaways and eight-night South Caribbean getaways to the beaches of Oranjestad, Aruba, and Willemstad, Curacao. Plus, each Caribbean vacation visits Perfect Day at CocoCay, Royal Caribbean’s top-rated destination, with turquoise blue waters and beaches, a thrilling water park, pools, swim-up bars and more.
