Riviera Travel, the UK escorted tours and river cruising company based in Burton-on-Trent, Staffordshire, England, will be opening an office in Dublin soon with three Irish staff.
The parent company, Riviera Tours Ltd, has just been granted a tour operator licence, TO 257, by the Commission for Aviation Regulation. Managing Director Michael Wright told Irish Travel Trade News: “We will be trading in Ireland as Riviera Travel and three staff from the Irish travel industry will be coming over for training next week.
“We do a lot of reader offers with UK consumer newspapers and publications and get quite a lot of Irish people flying over to take our tours – and these numbers have been building.”
The company’s website asserts: “For over 25 years, Riviera Travel has been carefully researching and thoughtfully crafting an enticing range of European and Worldwide escorted tours, Short Breaks, River Cruises and Tall Ship Cruises for the traveller looking for something just a little bit different.”
Meanwhile, Little Island, Co Cork, based Travelfox (formerly LTM Travel) has been appointed exclusive agent in Ireland for Cosmos Tours and Cruises.
The escorted tours market out of Ireland is certainly getting more competitive!
