RIU Hotels & Resorts has started building its fifth hotel in Jamaica. The Riu Palace Jamaica will be an exclusive hotel with 238 rooms, reserved for over 18s only, which will open its doors in December 2013.
The new hotel is situated next to Riu Montego Bay in the bay of Mahoe. This is the ideal location for exploring the treasures of the region and discovering the reggae culture thanks to the famous ‘SumFest’ that takes place each year in Montego Bay.
The 5-star Riu Palace Jamaica has a seafront location and will offer guests a modern design and relaxing atmosphere, ideal for enjoying a stay as a couple or with friends. The interior design will have the stamp of the new decorative style that the Spanish chain is rolling out in all its new projects. Inspired by the chill-out atmosphere of the island of Ibiza, the new design and décor opts for bright, open spaces, as well as the combination of warm colours and materials, such as orange and woods, with others that are more modern and colder, such as purple and glass.
The pool area also follows this modern line, with a dominance of white and straight, simple lines, including two fresh water pools, one with a swim-up bar.
The hotel will offer RIU’s renowned all-inclusive service, as well as 24-hour room service and a free wi-fi Internet connection throughout the hotel.
The dining options will include five restaurants: international cuisine in the buffet restaurant, Japanese and Italian restaurants, a steak house and modern fusion cuisine in the Krystal restaurant. There will also be a lobby bar and a chill-out bar on the beach.
Guests will also be able to enjoy all the facilities of the neighbouring Riu Montego Bay hotel including its theatre with live shows every night, the sports bar open 24 hours a day, the nightclub and the comprehensive Renova Spa.
