RCL Cruises Enhances Cruise Bookings System

Royal Caribbean International, Celebrity Cruises and Azamara Club Cruises have launched improvements to cruise bookings system with a two-month agent training and sales blitz. Royal Caribbean Quantum of the Seas

Customers and travel agents can now enjoy a faster, easier and more flexible cruise fare search experience with RCL Cruises Ltd’s newly enhanced global reservation system. The system will provide more targeted, visible and relevant cruise options to customers and travel agents, and instantly deliver and automatically apply promotions for which they qualify. With the new technology, customers planning a cruise with Royal Caribbean International, Celebrity Cruises, and Azamara Club Cruises will now receive the best cruise rates that apply, based on a number of factors including loyalty programme status, current promotions, and other individual details.

The improved reservation system has been available to agents since Monday 28th October 2013. To support the launch and ensure agents are fully up to speed, Royal Caribbean International, Celebrity Cruises and Azamara Club Cruises will be embarking on an extensive sales and training blitz.

The cruise line’s training and sales team have been calling on travel professionals in key agencies, face-to-face and via virtual classroom training sessions, to educate them on the improved system and show them how they can make the most of it.

In addition, a new module and vodcast on the changes will be made available on the e-learning programme, Cruising for Excellence online. The new course will contain everything agents need to know about making a booking and the enhancements that have been made.

Nicki Tempest-Mitchell, Head of Trade Sales, Royal Caribbean International, Celebrity Cruises and Azamara Club Cruises, said: “The huge investment we have made is exciting news for all travel agents. Providing agents with the best tools to ensure that they can sell with confidence and ease has always been extremely important to us. With these improvements, agents will have the peace of mind that they are providing customers with the absolute best value possible.

Lorraine Quinn, Head of Sales – a Ireland, added: “Our improved tools, coupled with the dedicated online training support and visits from our sales and training teams, will be a huge boost to agents.”

RCL Cruises Ltd’s newly enhanced reservation system streamlines the cruise fare search process into four simple steps. First, travel agents select the applicable qualifiers for their customers through their respective booking channel. The reservation system then returns the best available rate, which includes only applicable offers and combinability options for their customers. The travel agent can then consult with their customers on which offer would deliver the greatest holiday value and arrive at the best eligible offer to select, at which time, the reservation can be finalised.
