Royal Caribbean International has just launched a road show calling on more than 110 travel agencies throughout the island of Ireland. So look out for the sales teams in two BMW SUVs, one black and one white.
Their mission is to brief the agents on the extensive range of products and destinations with RCI, the leading cruise line in Ireland, in particular with the increase in capacity when Harmony of the Seas, the world’s largest cruise ship, comes online sailing from Barcelona next summer.
Next year will also see the arrival of another ship of the Quantum class, called Ovation of the Seas. So with that much extra capacity coming down the tracks, it was decided to brief Irish travel agents face to face, hence this week’s roadshow. It is also a measure of the importance of the Irish market to RCI, because the Irish market produces 13% of its total UK and Ireland business.
The cruise line will be offering a diverse range of holiday options for 2015/2016, such as a seven-night Mediterranean cruise from €962 per person on board Harmony of the Seas.
Ben Bouldin, Sales Director, UK and Ireland, Royal Caribbean International, said: “Ireland is a key market for us and we intend to grow our market share. Educating the trade is very important to us and we intend to have some dedicated Irish trade events in the coming year.”
