Portugal enjoyed its busiest summer holiday season on record this year, boosted by strong visitor numbers towards the end of the peak summer months.
The Iberian country received 2.3 million visitors in August, alone, which was ahead by 5.3% year-on-year.
Visitor numbers – in the first 8 months of this year – were over 13 million, which was up nearly 7% on the same period last year.
