Air Baltic is releasing a new food ordering system online that will allow passengers – from May – to drag and drop their preferred meal items on to their airline tray and create their own inflight meal.
Janis Vanags, Vice President of Corporate Communications, said: “With passengers now being able to create their own inflight meal the possibilities are endless, they can fully customise their inflight meal tray to their liking.”
How it will work:
Step 1: Once passengers have logged on to the system they will be presented with a screen containing an empty meal tray, on to which they then place their favourite meal options.
Step 2: Passengers then make up their own meal tray selecting the items that they would like to eat.
Nutritional information will also form part of the new system.
At the moment Air Baltic offers 20 pre-order meal options and four dietary meal options: Gluten Free, Lactose Free, Vegetarian, and Kosher. With this new system in place the possibilities are endless.
Customers must pre-order their meals no later than 24 hours prior to departure. However, if they forget to pre-order a meal the airline can still deliver a meal to thier seat (lasagna option only), which can be booked up to 40 minutes before the flight at the ticket desk in Riga.
