Over 60% of Irish people are planning multiple holidays in 2022, according to new research.
New research from Talon Ireland showcases an appetite among Irish people for a ‘Great return’ to normality.
The research found that consumers are returning to pre-Covid behaviours and activities, with 70% of respondents to the research agreeing that they will spend more time meeting up with family and friends, 62% plan to eat out more, and 51% are planning to visit pubs more.
64% stated that they had saved money throughout the pandemic, one-fifth of which agreed that they had saved significantly more than normal.
83% of respondents interviewed plan on spending their savings on big-ticket items in 2022. The highest spending categories will be holidays and travel, followed closely by home improvements and self-care.
Caroline DeCourcy, Insights Director at Talon Ireland said: “Further ‘green shoots’ for the Out of Home industry are reflected in the latest consumer sentiment research and it is safe to say that OOH is on an upward trajectory. The latest lifting of restrictions by the Government has resulted in a return to old behaviours and the emergence of new ones, with all signs indicating that audiences are omnipresent.”
Based on the data collected, this appetite for normality is set to continue over the coming weeks.
