“We are very pleased that we are able to continue to fly charter passengers for TUI, Thomas Cook and Nazar to popular destinations in the Mediterranean,” said Thomas Ramdahl, Chief Commercial Officer. “We are looking forward to welcoming even more passengers on board our comfortable and brand new aircraft with free inflight wifi.”

Traffic Growth in January

Norwegian carried 1,609,057 passengers in January 2015, an increase of 5% compared to January last year. Total passenger traffic (RPK) increased by 21% and total capacity (ASK) increased by 13%. The load factor was 80% in January, up 5.2 percentage points.

“I am very pleased that we have a higher load factor in a low season month like January,” said Bjørn Kjos, Chief Executive. “The increase in traffic growth is mainly due to a stronger focus on the European market, along with a considerable growth in our long-haul operation.”

Norwegian Crew

Norwegian continues to renew its fleet. A total of 10 brand new B737-800s and one B787 Dreamliner aircraft will be delivered during 2015. Last year, Norwegian took delivery of 14 brand new B737-800 and four B787 Dreamliners. Norwegian’s fleet is one of Europe’s newest and most environmentally friendly.

Norwegian operated 99.5% of its scheduled flights in January, of which 77.9% departed on time.
