New Year’s Eve in Genoa

There is lots to see and do in the historic city of Genoa on New Year’s Eve: a symphony concert open to the public, art and photography exhibitions, theatre shows, music at the Porto Antico, music and entertainment in the historical centre, an amazing street theatre show, and a musical fireworks display in Piazza de Ferrari, the heart of the city, to celebrate the New Year!foto piazza de ferrari fuochi

From 9.30pm to 10.30pm at Teatro Carlo Felice a symphony concert open to the public. Outside the theatre a maxi screen will allow spectators to enjoy the show outside.

From 10.45pm an amazing street theatre show in Piazza de Ferrari.

At midnight, in Piazza de Ferrari, an extraordinary musical fireworks display.

At Palazzo Ducale the exhibitions of  Edvard Munch and Robert Doisneau are open longer hours.

For young people, music and special effects at Porto Antico and the ice skating rink open until dawn!

Theatre Shows

Many theatre shows are scheduled in the Genoese theatres:

At the Teatro della Tosse, Shakespeare Dream MusiKabarett by Emanuele Conte and Amedeo Romeo. Fondazione Luzzati-Teatro della Tosse production.

At the Politeama Genovese, Maurizio Lastrico in ‘Facciamo che io ero io’ with Maurizio Lastrico. Directed by Gioele Dix.

At the Teatro della Gioventù, La cena dei cretini by Francis Veber. With the Kitchen Company. Directed by Massimo Chiesa.

On 1st January 2014 the traditional New Year’s Concert will take place at the Teatro Carlo Felice. Conductor Andrea Battistoni.
