Next Sunday, 9th June, will see Scandinavian Airlines officially introduce its new commercial offering, SAS Plus and SAS Go, which will replace Business Class, Economy Extra and Economy Class. 
“The service classes that were created 30 years ago do not reflect the needs of the modern traveller,” said Rickard Gustafson, Chief Executive and Group President of SAS. “Time is now in short supply for most people, and our customers want time efficiency and attractive prices, without any hidden charges. SAS Go and SAS Plus meet both of these needs.”
Recent research has shown that the number of passengers who travel more than five times a year is increasing and, with this in mind, SAS has developed this new concept with regular flyers in mind. Traditionally, flying used to be divided into business trips and leisure trips, but passengers now want the same convenience and comfort whether they are travelling on business or for leisure. The prices for SAS Go are similar to the prices of the old Economy tickets. With SAS Plus passengers get better value for money as the ‘from price’ is on average around 30% lower than the ‘from price’ of today’s flexible products – and they include more services.
The new concept is based on customer research and has been developed in close dialogue with customers, stakeholders and partners for the past 12 months. The result is a simplified and harmonised concept that meets the increasing demand for smoother and more time-efficient journeys for leisure and business customers. The new commercial concept will be introduced on all SAS routes within Scandinavia and Europe, including their domestic flights, as well as all SAS intercontinental routes.
SAS Go
SAS Go is for customers who want a lot. SAS Go tickets are non-refundable, but can be changed against a fee. One piece of baggage (maximum 23kg), time-saving mobile, web or kiosk check-in services are included, as well as access to flight information in case of irregularities.
SAS Plus
SAS Plus is the premium product for customers who want more. The tickets are fully refundable and changeable. If you choose SAS Plus you can reserve a seat at the time of reservation and you have priority on wait-lists. Fast Track Security is offered to SAS Plus customers, where available in Scandinavia and Europe. Two pieces of baggage (maximum 23kg) are included.
SAS Onboard Café
Along with the new class options, SAS will also offer customers a new service concept in the form of the onboard café. All products in the café are handmade, fresh and “personal with great taste”.
The core components are signature made and branded by SAS such as coffee, tea, sandwiches, wraps, salads and muffins. Everything is signed and sealed by the SAS. The café will be open on all SAS European flights longer than 40 minutes.
