New Rules for US Airlines

From tomorrow (23rd August) US airlines will be required by the US Transportation Department to refund baggage fees for lost checked luggage and to pay more for involuntarily bumping passengers on over-booked flights. US and overseas airlines will be fined up to US$27,500 per passenger if an international flight remains airside for four hours or more without taking off.

In addition, from 24th January 2012 advertised fares must include all Government taxes and fees (until now they could be listed separately, provided they were prominently footnoted or linked).
