Andreas Köster is the newly appointed Senior Director Sales UK, Ireland & Iceland Lufthansa Group. From 1st September 2016 he will be responsible for the sales activities and representation of the Lufthansa Group in the UK, Ireland and Iceland. Andreas will be based in London and reports to Heike Birlenbach, Vice President Sales Europe Lufthansa Group.
Andreas Köster brings many years of experience in airline management to his new position. He started his career in 1997 as management trainee with Lufthansa. He then gained experience in airline revenue management, before becoming General Manager Market & Business Development based in Singapore in 2004. Three years later, he returned to Lufthansa’s Frankfurt office as Director Customer Intelligence, being responsible for Customer Data Analysis and Market Research. In 2013, he became Director Global Key Account Management, with responsibility for Lufthansa Group’s global corporate customers, travel management companies and online travel agents. Andreas holds an Industrial Engineer degree from the Technical University Braunschweig in Germany.
He is succeeding Christian Schindler, who has held this position since 2012. Christian will now be Head of Sales and Services Europe for the LSG Lufthansa Service Holding AG, being based at Frankfurt Airport.
