Aer Lingus has announced new routes from Cork Airport as part of its winter flight schedule. Irish Travel e-News also understands that the airline is to acquire three Airbus A319s from Iberia. The aircraft will be re-configured to hold 144 passengers and will be used on leaner European routes from March 2012.
The airline will begin a new weekly service from Cork to Las Palmas in Gran Canaria on Sunday 30th October. A new three flights a week service from Cork to Barcelona and a twice-weekly service to Rome will be aimed at city break travellers.
Following the acquisition of the A319s, it is expected that Aer Lingus will dispose of up to three A320s, also in 2012.
