CityHook, a new mobile app that helps passengers to easily find the best transport option between more than 130 European airports and nearby city centre locations is now available to download for free on iPhone and Android smartphones.
From a passenger’s perspective, finding the best connection between an airport and the nearby city usually involves understanding three key factors: journey time, cost and drop-off location, from all the available travel options. However it is usually difficult for passengers to find complete and independent sources of information for all available modes of transport from airports.
CityHook addresses this issue by providing information about transport options from airports and presenting them in an easy to read format. This makes it easier for passengers to choose the travel option that best suits their needs.
CityHook, which is located at NovaUCD, the Centre for New Ventures and Entrepreneurs, is the brainchild of Kevin O’Shaughnessy and Tommaso Solesin who met while completing their Masters degrees at University College Dublin’s Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School.
Kevin O’Shaughnessy said: “Tommaso and I love to travel and had realised that every time we landed at a new airport we were instantly at a loss as to what was the best option to travel into the city centre. We believed other passengers had similar experiences and that’s when the idea of CityHook emerged. We decided that there must be a solution that organises airport transport information and makes that final part of the journey from an airport into a city centre easier and less stressful.
“Currently we are focusing on growing our product by adding additional destinations within Europe and North America and making it as useful as possible for passengers. Soon we will allow the public and businesses to suggest and create connections or ‘hooks’ between any two destinations.”
The CityHook iPhone App is available to download for free via Cityhook.com/iphone or Cityhook.com/android.
