NCL Raises £15,000 for ITAA Benevolent Fund and Abta Lifeline From Successful ‘Walk for Wellness’

Norwegian Cruise Line’s first UK and Ireland health and wellness walking initiative Walk for Wellness, has successfully hit its ultimate milestone two weeks earlier than expected – and will donate £15,000 to charities Abta Lifeline and ITAA Benevolent Fund.

It was originally estimated that 750 agents would sign up for the month-long campaign, but 1.2K partners rose to the challenge, with walkers hurtling past the 40K mile mark on Thursday.

To celebrate, Gary Anslow, VP UK and Ireland, NCL, hosted a 60-person team walk around Southampton’s parks.

Mr Anslow said:We are delighted by the overwhelming response to the Walk for Wellness campaign, we’ve thrilled that we’ve achieved what we set out to do – get everyone walking, increase awareness on the importance of the link between mental health and fitness and raise money for two charities who directly benefit those working our beloved travel industry.” Despite hitting the final milestone, the walkers have no plans to stop.

Mr Anslow said: “While we’ve reached the ultimate goal, there are still mini challenges for the remainder of the month – we have added an extra four cruises on Norwegian Aqua as prizes, as well as NCL merchandise and Wellbeing vouchers, so keep walking!”
