Travel Counsellors Ireland has reported an unprecedented rise in new recruits and recruitment enquires so it is organising a number of initiatives, including ‘Discovery Days’ across the country that will offer an insight into the future of travel and will show travel agents that there is an alternative to working 9 – 5 in a retail shop.
Travel Counsellors who have previously worked in travel agencies or tour operators will be attending the Discovery Days and this will give potential recruits the chance to speak directly with people who have been in their position before, and hear why they took the leap to run their own business. The Discovery Days will take place in Cork, Limerick, Galway and Dublin from 4th – 7th November 2013.
Travel Counsellor Antoinette O’Connor, who this month celebrates her first year in business, says: “I was unsure about becoming a Travel Counsellor and working from home, but it has been the best thing I have ever done. I cannot believe how much I enjoy the work and at the same time being here for my family. The main reason is the support because I have felt that I have been supported every step of the way – I’ve never once felt alone. If I ever have any worries or concerns, I can pick up the phone and I am instantly reassured. It is like being part of a family, they really do care.”
Cathy Burke, General Manager at Travel Counsellors Ireland, adds: “We are able to offer a secure future to talented individuals, providing them with a tried and tested formula to build a successful travel business. Ultimately, our goal is to keep recruiting the very best agents in the industry and to provide them with the tools to succeed.”
Anyone interested in attending the Travel Counsellors Discovery Tour can register their interest by emailing [email protected] or phoning in confidence on 0818 33 20 03.
