Nantes + La Rochelle: Two New French Destinations from Munster This Year

Two new French routes are set to take off this June with CityJet. The airline will operate a twice-weekly service to La Rochelle on Tuesday and Saturday, while Cork – Nantes will be a weekly service each Sunday from June 2016.

Nantes provides easy access to the Loire Atlantique coast and the Pays de la Loire, with its chateaux and historical towns, including some of the best vineyards in France. The historic city of La Rochelle is the gateway to key camping and tourist destinations along the west coast of France, not least the town itself and the nearby Île de Ré. Both destinations are popular with Irish tourists seeking to experience the delights of France.

Pat Byrne, CityJet’s Executive Chairman, said: “Our direct flights to Nantes and La Rochelle provide convenient access to these fabulous tourist regions of France as well as opening up Cork and the wider region to French visitors.

“Flying CityJet also means you can avail of competitive fares, complimentary onboard catering and generous baggage allowance, which can save a family of four over €200 on a round trip.”

Niall MacCarthy, Managing Director at Cork Airport said: “The two new routes to the French west coast mean there is even greater choice this summer with six destinations now on offer, along with Bordeaux, Carcassonne, Rennes and Paris.”
