Myanmar is a country that is destined to be become a desired destination for international visitors in the near future. However, one of the major challenges facing this emerging nation is the quantity of good standard hotel rooms in major tourist destinations.
The growth in international tourist arrivals has been impressive, with more than a million arrivals in 2012, and with 2013 figures estimated to be 1.8 million, an increase of 85% year on year.
The 2015 meeting of the ASEAN tourism ministers will take place in Myanmar.
