The Wright Venue in Airside Business Park, Swords, Co Dublin, was the venue for a well attended MSC Cruises’ fun night for agents, in association with Amadeus, where great fun was had by all.
Rebecca Kelly, Business Development Manager – Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland for MSC Cruises, made the presentation, having earlier welcomed the guests (each of whom received four €6.50 drink tokens), ably assisted by Olwen McKinney, Sales and Account Manager Executive, Amadeus, and with Lorenzo Diamantini, MSC’s Director of Sales – Ireland, and Volker Lorenz, Amadeus’s General Manager Ireland, in support.
“We are the kings of the Mediterranean,” Rebecca told her guests, when outlining MSC Cruises’ itineraries to the Mediterranean, Northern Europe, the Red Sea, the Caribbean, and Ocean Voyages to the USA, South America and South Africa in 2013.
The MSC Preziosa will become the fourth Fantasia Class ship in the 13-ship fleet in March 2013, and the MSC Fantasia will then join the MSC Divinia – another Fantasia Class ship – for summer sailings out of Venice. The MSC Preziosa will sail in Greece and have 1,751 cabins and 18 decks. The vessel originally included a 120-ton seawater tank for six sharks, installed on the orders of Hannibal Gaddafi, but since the ship’s acquisition by MSC Cruises the shark tank has been removed!
Rebecca also highlighted the all-inclusive fly/cruise fares from €919pp and all-inclusive cruise-only fares from €569pp (when booked by 30th November), the fact that children aged 2-17 will still ‘cruise for free’ in 2013, and the 10% commission to be made by agents on pre-booked Allegrissimo beverage packages.
Six suppliers – MSC Cruises, Amadeus, One Stop Touring Shop, TravelCube, Ticket Master, and Globe Hotels – presented spot prizes, with Dominic Burke and Joselyn Burke of Travel Centres winning two of them!
