More Options to Catalonia from Cork Airport

Cork Airport hosted a promotional evening in the Sternview Gallery at Nash 19 in Cork to celebrate increased capacity on flights from Cork Airport to Barcelona, Reus and Girona. The Honorary Vice-Consul for Spain, Catalina Goode, was in attendance, as were Eira Mogas, Paula Garcia and Sílvia Garcia Denche from the Catalan Tourist Board in London.

The event gave those in attendance a flavour of the spectacular region of Catalonia. Home to works by Gaudí and Dalí, monasteries, UNESCO World Heritage Sites, world-class museums, spectacular beaches and resorts, marinas, mountains and national parks, Catalonia is also famed for its wonderful cuisine, with some of the best restaurants in Spain.

Kevin Cullinane, Head of Communications, Cork Airport, said: “These well-established routes are more popular than ever and we have worked with our airline partners to increase capacity to ensure passengers have the greatest choice possible when it comes to booking their holiday to Catalonia.

“The region has so much to offer from theme parks to architecture and beaches to world-standard cuisine. It is certainly a place that has something to suit all tastes and we are really pleased to be opening up Catalonia even more for Irish holiday makers.”

During the summer schedule, from now up to October, you can fly to Barcelona four times a week with Aer Lingus, and to Girona with Ryanair every Tuesday and Saturday from 4th June to 30th August or to Reus from 1st June every Wednesday, Friday and Sunday up to 31st August. Capacity has been increased on these flights by 48% compared with last year’s schedule.
