Memphis Tourism has appointed Black Diamond as its public relations and trade representation agency for the UK and Ireland, as the destination looks to increase its presence in the market through media relations efforts and travel trade channels.

The appointment marks an exciting moment for Memphis, as the city amplifies its international profile in response to traveller appetite for authentic cultural experiences, event-centred itineraries and distinctive US city breaks among UK audiences. The integrated strategy will spotlight Memphis’s legendary musical roots, craft spirit and culinary culture, as well as its vibrant arts scene, live events and revitalised districts. Activity will centre on creative storytelling, product development, agent education and FAMS & press trips.

Alongside trade and media efforts, Memphis Tourism will elevate its direct-to-consumer presence in 2026 through targeted brand collaborations and event activations built around the city’s core offerings in music and food.
Jim Odoire, Managing Director at Black Diamond commented: “The UK represents an exciting growth opportunity for Memphis and this appointment marks a significant step in strengthening the destination’s connection with UK travellers and the travel trade. By working collaboratively with our travel trade, airline and media partners, we look forward to delivering innovative PR, consumer activity and targeted trade initiatives that elevate Memphis’s profile and drive increased visitation to this remarkable city.”

Regena Bearder, Chief Marketing Officer of Memphis Tourism, commented “Memphis has long held a powerful place in the hearts of travellers across Europe and the UK, thanks to our immersive culture, iconic music, distinctive neighbourhoods and unforgettable experiences. With Black Diamond’s expertise, we can further expand Memphis’s presence and share our story with new and emerging audiences across the UK and Ireland. This partnership is a tremendous opportunity to continue elevating the destination and inspire even more visitors to experience the energy and authenticity that define Memphis.”

Memphis Tourism will begin its 2026 industry engagement by hosting trade and media at the much-anticipated Memphis Grizzlies NBA game at the O2 in January, followed by trade and media FAMs and a return to London in March for the Travel South Mission.
