Malaga Introduces Fines for Disruptive Visiting Tourists

Malaga has warned tourists they may be fined up to €750 for breaking new etiquette rules when visiting the city.

The rules are designed for safety and etiquette and are aimed at respecting other tourists and locals, alike.

Malaga attracted around 14 million international visitors last year and those wary of overtourism threats have likened the city, during the summer months, to a theme park for tourists.

It is now actually illegal to walk around Malaga’s city streets either shirtless or in uncovered swimming costumes.

Fines are applicable to anyone littering the streets, not being fully dressed in public (meaning tshirts/tops should be worn at all times), being obnoxiously loud and disruptive or cycling/scooting on pavements.
