Lufthansa Simplifies Online Booking and Operates B747-8 to World Cup

Lufthansa has made it easier to book tickets and a wide range of other services with a new shopping cart function on its website – and from 29th March will fly its newest B747-8 on the Frankfurt – Sao Paolo route, just in time for the World Cup.

The individual booking steps on the website have been fundamentally changed, and the layout has been redesigned and the menu prompts simplified. Customers can now add flights and other optional flight-related services to their virtual shopping cart. This includes seat reservations, travel insurance packages and rail&fly tickets of Deutsche Bahn for international flights.

Details such as destination or date can now also be changed during the individual booking steps – the available flight connections and the shopping cart will automatically be updated accordingly. Up until now, customers had to repeat the booking steps if they made any changes.

Frankfurt – Sao Paolo

From 29th March, the B747-8 will fly daily between Frankfurt and Sao Paolo. Flight LH 506 is currently operated with a Boeing 747-400 and the switch to the new aircraft will happen just in time for the World Cup in Brazil this summer.

The B747-8 carries 362 passengers, with eight seats in First Class, 92 in Business Class and 262 in Economy Class.
