Lowcostbeds.com has reported a record-breaking start to 2014 with Irish sales up 39% on this time last year. The Swiss-based bedbank is currently celebrating its 10th anniversary and intends launching a wide range of trade incentives over the coming months to thank travel agents for their support over the past decade.
Clem Walshe, Irish Managing Director, said: “We are delighted with the positive way the 2014 selling season has kicked off. We invested a lot of time and resource in a number of key areas at the end of last year and we are now reaping the rewards of that investment in the form of bookings.”
The top-selling short-haul beach destinations year-to-date have been the Algarve, Lanzarote and Majorca. Further afield, lowcostbeds has enjoyed significant growth in Orlando, New York, the Caribbean and Mexico, while the city break programme has witnessed healthy sales in London, Barcelona, Paris and Prague.
Clem added: “Our overseas buyers are now focussed on growing our direct stock in the city and long-haul markets. There are currently over 200,000 properties available via our XML and website worldwide and the aim is to dramatically grow our own stock element in new markets over the current months to ensure we can provide agents with an even better choice of great property rates right across the globe.”
The phenomenal growth of dynamic packaging in recent years has convinced more and more Irish travel agents that there is a significant benefit to be had in investing in their own online environment. Lowcostbeds offers travel agents an easy to integrate, user friendly XML feed with access to over 200,000 great value properties worldwide.
