Lowcostbeds European Expansion Continues

Over 10,000 agents have signed up to use the Lowcostbeds platform across Europe, according to the latest figures from the Lowcosttravelgroup. This increase in agents follows a rapid and successful programme of European launches, replicating the model of the original UK site.

With sites now active in the UK, Ireland, Spain, France, Italy, Sweden, Austria, Germany and Switzerland, sales across Europe are growing above expectations with Lowcostbeds continuing to be a major focus for the Lowcosttravelgroup. Recent additions further strengthening the Lowcostbeds team include Paul Riches as Director of Sales for the group and Elodie Leunen, who joined from Expedia as Head of Trade for Europe.

“We anticipate the number of agents signed up with us will soon reach 15,000, which will be accelerated by the launch of sites in Norway and the Netherlands over the next few months,” said Elodie Leunen.

“There are big investments in the pipeline for our Lowcostbeds portal later this year as a result of direct requests from agents signed up with us,” added Paul Riches. “We are delighted to have such a wide base of support across the continent. Lowcostbeds now offer over 150,000 hotels to our trade partners and we are adding new hotels all the time.

“We provide cutting edge service and leading technology for all our agents. Lowcostbeds is part of the wave swelling across European travel allowing travel agents to go head to head with traditional operators and create their own dynamic packages at great value competitive prices. This wave will continue to grow.”

The Lowcostgroup has enjoyed significant success since launching on the Irish market 18 months ago. Travel agents across the country have embraced the Lowcostbeds and Resorthoppa brands as their preferred choice in the competitive dynamic package market.

Irish Managing Director Clem Walshe said: “I am delighted that so many Irish agents now include Lowcostbeds and Resorthoppa as part of their regular product offering for customers.

“The recent appointment of Grainne Caffrey to the position of Agency Sales Manager for Ireland will ensure that we maintain an open line of communication with our trade partners and continue to deliver the competitive, user friendly dynamic package solutions that travel agents need to maximise their margins in this difficult economic climate.”
