Lowcostbeds entertained some of their top agents to a sumptuous dinner at Dobbins restaurant in Dublin last night – the meal finishing off in great excitement with the news of Ireland’s last-minute equaliser against Germany!
Clem Walshe, Managing Director – Ireland, told his guests: “From an Irish perspective, we are really appreciative of the support that we are getting from agents – and also of Paul Riches and Alex Gisbert listening to myself and Grainne and supporting us from the UK.”
Alex Gisbert, International Managing Director, said: “This is the third year that we have entertained our top agents here in Dobbins and I am pleased to note that everyone is a little more positive than this time last year.
“Lowcostbeds has achieved 40% growth this year and Brazil is now our second largest market. Two years ago the UK provided 80% of our business, whereas yesterday it was 32%. We opened an office in Bangkok earlier this year, now have 29 buyers, and 150-200 new hotels are being contracted every week.
“We have listened to and acted on your comments and I am pleased to report that our complaints ratio has halved year-on-year. Also, from end February / early March next year we will be providing customer service 24/7 with call centres around the world’s time zones in Bangkok, Palma and Atlanta.
“We are also doing a lot of work to our website, by March 2015 agents will be able to add your own mark-ups, US zip codes, etc – and by this time next year I am sure that you will be asking us for hotels in more and more destinations worldwide.”
Malta Fam Trip
Meanwhile, the Malta Tourism Authority sponsored a fam trip to Malta for a group of Irish travel agents from 6th – 9th October, who were accompanied by Grainne and Veneta from Lowcostbeds.
The group stayed at the 4-star Cavalieri Hotel, St Julian’s Bay.
