The 7th Amadeus Ireland Golf Day, held at Adare Manor in Co Limerick on Wednesday, was a great day for the 65 guests who attended – the occasion is best described as “very lively”.
As always, the Amadeus sales team of Volker Lorenz, Trish O’Leary and Olwen McKinney were on hand to dispense their outstanding hospitality during the golf and the après-golf events.
Luck was on their side and, after the horrendous weather during the first two days of the week, Wednesday dawned bright and breezy for the golfers on a very tough and challenging 7,453-yard, par-72 Adare Manor championship course.
Playing off a handicap of 16, Greg Cawley of TecSupport was the men’s winner (for the second year in a row) with an excellent score of 40 points. Audrey Headon of World Travel Centre, playing off a handicap of 19, won the ladies’ prize, while the team prize went to Gerry Headon, Martin Dempsey, Audrey Headon, and Graham Aldren.
After dinner in the clubhouse, a large group gathered in the Dungeon Bar of Adare Manor where, as usual, Peter O’Hanlon of Travelfinders led the revelry late into the night. (A few sore heads were observed at breakfast the following morning!)
Thanks to the Amadeus team for a great day.
