Korean Air and Amadeus have signed a full content agreement providing travel agencies worldwide guaranteed access to the full range of fares and inventory through the Amadeus system.
Kee Hong Woo, Senior Vice President, Passenger Business at Korean Air, said: “With this new agreement, we ensure that travel agents in Korea and in our international markets will be provided with the highest level of access to Korean Air’s full range of content and services. Furthermore, this agreement will also help travel agents to provide not only the best available content but also enhanced customer services, reflective of our commitment to excellence in flight.”
“This is an important step in our strategy to secure sustainable and long-term content agreements with leading airlines worldwide,” said Holger Taubmann, SVP Distribution at Amadeus. “This agreement recognises the crucial role that travel agency distribution plays and the stability that long-term content agreements bring to airline and travel agency parties alike.”
The Korean Air and Amadeus agreement strengthens a long-standing relationship that expands also to the Airline IT space, with the airline’s plan to migrate to the full Amadeus Altea Suite, including Reservation, Inventory and Departure Control in 2014 and, separately, the agreement to migrate TOPAS, Korea’s leading travel information system provider, to the Amadeus system also in 2014.
A member in the SkyTeam alliance, Korean Air is among the top 20 airlines in the world in terms of passengers carried (23 million) and is also the top-ranked international cargo airline.
