KLM to Increase Capacity on Cork-Amsterdam Route

KLM will increase frequency on its Cork to Amsterdam/Schiphol route, in the wake of Aer Lingus exiting the route in March.

KLM began the service in 2020 and will now use two aircraft on the route and a larger plane, giving more capacity of around 20 seats per plane.

Jerome Salemi, General Manager of Air France-KLM in the UK and Ireland told The Irish Examiner that the move represents “quite a significant growth for us…clearly, we see that the trend is very positive for the coming months. Its’s a good opportunity for us to increase our capacity and to take that traffic off Aer Lingus.”

Air France-KLM is also considering turning its Cork to Paris route a year-round service; Mr Salemi saying: “The more you add capacity to Amsterdam, the more options you offer to your customers coming from Cork.”
