The new Economy Comfort zone on European flights offers up to 9cm more legroom and back supports that can recline 40% more. Passengers seated in the Economy Comfort zone can also disembark quicker after landing because their seat is located at the front of Economy Class. Passengers in Economy Comfort zone can also benefit from in-seat power.

All passengers traveling in Economy Class may buy an Economy Comfort seat for a nominal fee of €20 to €30 one-way, depending on the duration of the flight. Flying Blue Elite members benefit from a discount.

Erik Varwijk, Managing Director, KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, said: “KLM Economy Comfort responds to the desire of passengers in Economy Class to have more choice in comfort. Previously, we introduced Economy Comfort on all intercontinental routes, and seats with more legroom. The big success shows the large customer demand for further differentiation.”
