Japanese airline group ANA Holdings has said it will increase its flight capacity to Europe by 130% this year.

That will be done via increased frequency on routes into and out of cities like Paris and Munich; along with the introduction of recently announced new routes such as Milan, Stockholm and Istanbul.

The Japanese airline group – which includes ANA Airlines and Air Japan – has just reported record first quarter (the 3 months to the end of June) sales revenue of 516.7bn Yen; and operating profit of 30.3bn Yen – exceeding pre-Covid highs.

“As we entered this fiscal year, we were pleased to see the increase in passenger demand in the international market, partially aided by the foreign currency rates. This has also contributed to maintaining high yields. As a result, we were able to achieve record-high sales revenue for the first quarter.” said Kimihiro Nakahori, Executive Vice President and Group Chief Financial Officer.

“The strategic expansion in Europe aligns with our annual plan, positions us to effectively meet increasing demand, introduces new passengers to our award winning customer service, and provides travellers the opportunity to create their experiences.”
