UK-based travel wholesaler JacTravel, best known for its range of hotel beds online and inbound travel services, has recruited Alexia Renedo to lead the sales efforts globally, as Director of Sales, for its expanding online FIT division. She will oversee a team of 13 staff and be responsible for existing customers and new business worldwide.
Alexia’s team’s core activity is selling JacTravel’s B2B booking system and XML links in to its extensive inventory of hotel accommodation, which trade customers can access on a net rate basis. That inventory currently comprises over 7,000 properties in more than 550 cities and is growing steadily.
JacTravel’s Director of Online, Angela Skelly said: “I am delighted that Alexia has decided to join us. We have significant expansion plans for the business, particularly in American and Asian markets, building on what we have achieved over the last two years. I have every confidence that under her leadership, our business will continue to grow at a very rapid pace.”
Alexia initially worked as Business Development Manager for GTA where she spearheaded the growth of the business into the Latin American markets in the 1990s. She also held the position of Business Development Manager at Destinations of the World (DOTW) where she was involved in establishing its European arm, product development and the opening of new markets. Her latest appointment was as Vice President of Sales EMEA at Tourico Holidays, where she played an instrumental role in the company’s expansion into the European and Middle East region.
