ITTN Speaks To The Trade In Cork City

ITTN’s Carrie Day was out and about visiting agents in Cork city on Wednesday (17 April), ahead of the ITAA’s Irish Travel Trade Show in the Imperial Hotel. You can read more about this wonderful event here.

Carrie chatted to Lorraine Chandley of Barters Travelnet about what is hot right now and it’s no surprise to learn that both Mediterranean and Caribbean cruises are high on holidaymakers wish lists, with the various cruise lines offering great value for money.

Danielle O’Keeffe in Shandon Travel also remarked that weekend breaks to London are proving very popular at the moment, with Warner Bros Studio London Harry Potter™ Tour and Legoland being the most requested. With great fares to Seville and Valencia from Cork and Shannon Airports, Shandon Travel are seeing an increase in bookings to these sunny cities.

Lee Travel’s Maria Boyle-Morgan reiterated this, as they saw a rise in Valencia and Sorrento breaks in recent weeks and commented that their customers are happy to change their destination to allow them to fly direct from Cork Airport. Maria also remarked on the increase in bookings for Marella cruises sailing out of Cork. Maria joined Carrie on an exclusive ITTN FAM trip to Valencia last year. You can read all about their experience here.

It’s great to get a feel for what is selling for Cork agents, as more desintations are added from Cork and Shannon Airports, servicing the south and west of Ireland. Thanks for your time, ladies!
