ITTN Attends Tenerife Tourism Sales Mission Event

ITTN’s Julia Labedz attended the Tenerife Tourism sales mission, hosted by Tenerife Tourism, on Wednesday, 11th June at the Marlin Hotel in Dublin. The evening brought together members of the Irish travel trade to explore curated experiences, boutique stays, and new tourism offerings from across Tenerife.

Opening Remarks

The event began with a welcome reception and introductory remarks delivered by Nuria Lorenzo and Laura Peña of the Spanish Tourism Office. This was followed by a promotional video showcasing the highlights of Tenerife’s wide range of tourism appeal. The presentation emphasised top attractions such as the UNESCO-listed Anaga Rural Park, the iconic Mount Teide National Park, and highly recommended experiences including stargazing, whale and dolphin watching, hiking, cultural traditions in Santa Cruz and the island’s famous Carnaval.

The opening speech also underlined Tenerife’s growing position in luxury travel, its sustainable tourism initiatives, including solar-powered upgrades to the Mount Teide cable car, and practical visitor tools like the new Tenerife app ‚Tenerife On’ which allows travellers to check trail conditions, apply for hiking permits for the likes of Mount Teide, prepare for outdoor activities and much, much more.

Updates also included new hotel refurbishments and announcements of upcoming events, such as major music festivals, with Jennifer Lopez set to perform in July. Additionally, attention was given to Tenerife’s tax benefits and shopping scene.

Putting an exciting spin on the evening, attendees received a quiz booklet designed to encourage active participation at each presentation table.
