Istanbul Airport, Amsterdam Schiphol and Josep Tarradellas Barcelona–El Prat have ranked best airports in Europe for passenger pick-up services; via local taxi and Uber connections.
A new study, conducted by ground transportation experts Mozio, reveals the best and worst global airports for passengers to be collected from, based on factors such as pick-up rules and restrictions, surcharges and fees and ease of access.
It aims to show that it is possible to balance scale with relatively simple pickups, and Istanbul Airport is a prime example. It handled around 80 million passengers in 2024, which made it Europe’s second-busiest airport.
While many European airports were praised for how efficiently they are for passengers to be collected from the arrivals hall, London’s Heathrow Airport has been rated as ‘very poor’, which is the worst in Europe. Heathrow ranks among the worst-rated airports in Europe due to its fees and more complicated pickup layouts. Also rated poor was Paris Charles de Gaulle; while Rome Fiumicino and Frankfurt were rated ‘fair’.
Nicole Kerr, CEO at Mozio, commented on the study findings: “Millions of flights depart from global airports each year, with over 36 million in 2024 alone. While traveling should be a pleasant experience, getting from the airport to your destination can sometimes be a stressful task.”

With an airport transfer, you will have someone meet you in the arrivals hall, holding a sign with your name, which will help to make your airport experience simple and stress-free.”
