Irish Visitor Numbers Increase by 19% in August

Dubai Tourism reports a 19% increase in Irish visitors this August to 3,301, compared with 2,775 in August 2013. The cumulative effects of an expanding product portfolio, competitive pricing and mega-fams for agents have heightened exposure for Dubai across Ireland. Story 1 - Jumeirah Beach

Ian Scott, UK & Ireland Director, Dubai Tourism, said: “The increase in Irish visitors that we saw in August is extremely encouraging and demonstrates a very solid move towards making our ‘Tourism Vision for 2020’ a reality.

“Great things are happening in Dubai and the emirate is working hard to expand its tourism offering to attract both new and repeat visitors with an increase in accommodation, innovative and exciting attractions, and new infrastructure.

“The figure also illustrates the growing appeal of Dubai as a summer holiday destination and shows the success of our ‘Summer Is Dubai’ tactical campaign run in conjunction with a series of our tour operator partners to drive greater awareness of what the emirate has to offer the Irish market over the summer months and push conversion.”

Dubai’s ‘Tourism Vision for 2020’ aims to see 20 million visitors head to Dubai by the year 2020.
