Irish Ferries has confirmed its continuing support for this year’s 2015 Spraoi International Street Arts Festival, which takes place in Waterford over the Bank Holiday Weekend 31st July – 2nd August next.
As an official travel partner to the festival, its support will see carriage being provided for acts and their equipment coming to Waterford to take part in the event from Britain, France and further afield. This year, these include British magician Billy Kidd, the Belgian Cirque Democratique and French Cirque Exalté and the UK’s Tenth Avenue Band and Natural Theatre Company.
Comprising three days of street entertainment and festivities, the festival will end with a Mardi Gras-style carnival through the city centre followed by a fireworks display launched from the River Suir.
Marie McCarthy, Irish Ferries UK Passenger Sales Manager, said: “We are proud to have supported Spraoi Festival organisers during their 23 years in existence and to have helped transport many of the acts and the 30,000 visitors who come to Waterford for the event annually.”
On the Irish Sea, Irish Ferries operates up to 16 daily crossings between Dublin and Holyhead and Rosslare and Pembroke. On its French routes, the Oscar Wilde cruise ferry operates sailings from Rosslare to Cherbourg and Roscoff with sister ship Epsilon operating a weekend return sailing from Dublin to Cherbourg.
