Irish Ferries Confirms New Dublin-Fishguard Route as Part of Holyhead Contingency Plans

Irish Ferries has confirmed a new Dublin-Fishguard route as a contingency measure against the delayed reopening of Holyhead Port in the wake of devastating damage wreaked by the recent Storm Darragh extreme weather event.

It was announced, earlier this week, that Holyhead would miss its December 19 reopening target, and would, instead, aim to re-open around the middle of January.

Irish Ferries said its new Fishguard route is bookable for car passengers from today and will be used to accommodate bookings impacted by Holyhead’s closure.
