Donald Trump’s suggestion that the war in Iran is nearly over has done little to ease turbulence around air traffic to/from the Middle East.
Dublin Airport has, again, warned travellers that airlines have confirmed further disruption to flights between Ireland and airports in the Middle East over the coming days. “As always,” Dublin Airport said, “passengers due to fly should contact their airline directly for the latest updates on the status of their flight.”

Some airlines have begun to talk of higher air fares due to the rise in fuel costs since the start of the war. President Trump’s talk of a sooner rather than later end to the conflict helped global oil prices to fall from $119 per barrel to $90 per barrel, and airline share prices to recover. However, jet fuel costs have risen from $85-$90 per barrel to $150-$200 per barrel since the war began. Qantas and Air New Zealand have hinted at rising air fares on the back of that.
Etihad Airways said as the situation in the Middle East continues to evolve, it is making necessary adjustments to flight operations and waiver policies. The Abu Dhabi-based carrier said: “To ensure you have the most accurate and up‑to‑date information, please remember to visit Etihad Hub, your one-stop source for all things Etihad. All policy updates and operational advisories are published there first.”
Qatar Airways said scheduled flight operations remain temporarily suspended due to the closure of Qatari airspace. Qatar Airways will resume operations once the Qatar Civil Aviation Authority announces the safe full reopening of Qatari airspace by the relevant authorities. However, following temporary authorisation from the Qatar Civil Aviation Authority confirming limited operating corridors, Qatar Airways intends to operate the following flight schedule in the coming days to support passengers who have been affected by the current disruption, and to help them reunite with family and friends as quickly and safely as possible.
