Responsible travel pioneer Intrepid Travel has appointed Rochelle Turner to the newly-created role of B Corp Impact Manager.
The B Corp certification is awarded to for-profit organisations which have a social and sustainable impact.
Intrepid became a B Corp certified business in 2018; meeting criteria including high standards of verified performance, accountability and transparency.
At the time of being certified, Intrepid had a score of 82.7. In 2022, the adventure travel company re-certified, with a new improved score of 91.2.
Ms Turner said: “I am thrilled to join Intrepid as its Global B Corp Impact Manager. I can’t wait to help Intrepid Travel realise its ambition to be the best travel company for the world. Intrepid has consistently led in the area of responsible travel and business, and I look forward to developing new opportunities for the business to create more positive change.”
Ms Turner joins Intrepid with over 20 years of experience in sustainability and corporate social responsibility within the travel, tourism, and leisure sectors. She has held senior roles conducting research at the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC), Which?, TUI and Ipsos MORI.
She will be responsible for overseeing and improving Intrepid’s B Corp certification, as well as reporting on the company’s social and environmental impacts annually.
