More than 80,000 Irish visitors flew to the sunshine island of Gran Canaria last year, according to Katerina Bomshtein, Gran Canaria Tourism, who was speaking at a lunch for top agents, hosted in association with Sunway. The lunch was held in the Amuse Restaurant, which is enjoying a growing reputation for really fine food.
Gran Canaria is truly a “miniature continent”in its own right, a unique feature of the island that has led to UNESCO declaring more than 40% of it a World Biosphere Reserve.
The island is a great golf destination with eight superb golf courses, all within a 50km radius of one another. Add in fine weather 365 days a year and it becomes a golfer’s paradise.
The lucky winner of two tickets and seven days’ hotel accommodation was the ebullient Richard Cullen from Killiney Travel.
