German Air Controllers Call Off Strike

At the last minute, German air traffic controllers called off the 6-hour strike planned to start at 6.00am this morning. The GdF union, which represents 3,400 of Germany’s 5,500 controllers, is demanding a 6.5% wage increase and pay linked to length of service. Management has offered 4.1%. DFS, the German ATC provider, failed in its attempt yesterday to obtain a court injunction.
