The island had 300 days of sunshine last year, welcomed more than 40,000 Irish visitors in 2014, and is showing a 29% increase for this year, from January to August.

The Fuerteventura Tourist Board is expecting a large increase in visitors from Northern Ireland as both Jet2 and Thomas Cook have announced plans for direct flights from Belfast beginning on 16th May 2016.
