Spain is still the number one destination for Irish travellers and Gonzalo Ceballos Watling, head of the Spanish Tourism Board office in Dublin, intends to ensure that Spain maintains that position. Hot on the heels of being voted ‘Best National Tourist Office’ at the Irish Travel Trade Awards 2013, came the launch of the Friends in Spanish Tourism initiative.
The group will include specialists in the travel trade for Spanish tourism and will be chaired by Con Horgan from Abbey Travel.The new grouping will be happy to note that Spain had its best visitor numbers from Ireland , in the first half of 2013.
