Accor is to introduce free wi-fi Internet in all its Asia-Pacific hotels by end-2012. The group has almost 500 hotels in Asia-Pacific and currently offers free Internet in its mid-scale brands such as Novotel, Ibis and Mercure, but not in luxury brands such as Pullman and Sofitel.
Guests will be able to check emails and surf the web for free, but will have to pay for activities requiring a higher bandwidth.
The recent Accor Asia Pacific Business Traveller Survey 2012, of 2,600 people across Asia, showed that free Internet was becoming an increasingly important factor in influencing hotel choices.
