Free Public Travel in the Balearic Islands Next Year

The Balearic Islands are giving the gift of free public transport next summer, as they look to cut the number of cars on the islands.

Local authorities say free travel will be available for the whole of next year.

The Balearic Transport Travel Card allows free travel on buses and trains throughout Menorca, Mallorca and Ibiza.

The scheme will be paid for by the Spanish government, which confirmed that it would be going ahead in the new year.

Details on how to obtain the travel card will be released shortly.
