The Langham Place hotel in Mongkok, Hong Kong, has launched a free Culture Tour of its Mongkok neighbouring streets, taking guests on an exploration of Mongkok’s hidden gems. The tour is an addition to its nightly Mongkok Market Tour.
Strolling along Shanghai Street towards Yau Ma Tei, guests experience the unique cultural legacy of real Hong Kong, ranging from traditional Chinese wedding accessory stores and wooden antique furniture, to Buddhist accessories. Owners of these history-laden shops share with the guests the memories of the good old days.
“The tour is led by a safe and knowledgeable guide who knows the area like the back of her hand and provides a glimpse of authentic culture in Hong Kong,” said Shaun Campbell, General Manager.
The hotel’s market adventures are still going strong, offering walks through the famous bazaars in Mongkok such as the ‘Ladies Market’ and a variety of electronic, live fish and fresh produce markets.
Both tours are free to in-house guests, departing at 11.00am for the Culture Tour (Monday – Saturday excluding public holidays) and at 6.00pm for the Mongkok Market Tour. Reservations are essential and may be made when booking a room or on check-in at the hotel.
