Four TA Licences Not Renewed, One Expired

The Commission for Aviation Regulation updated its travel agency licence list on 2nd May 2014, following the spring round of renewals – in which four were not renewed from 1st May 2014 and one expired on 30th April 2014. CAR Logo from Website

 

The four licences not renewed included Fingal Travel Services Ltd t/a Swords Travel (TA licence 0588), while the other three continue to trade under different licences. These include American Express International Inc t/a American Express Travel Service (0006), now with GBT III BV t/a American Express Global Business Travel (0735 issued on 26th March 2014 and expiring 30th April 2015); Anthony Fitzpatrick t/a Airboran Travel, AB Travel and abtravel.ie (0099), now with Village Travel Ltd t/a Justsplit.com (0297); and Joan A. Meehan t/a Meehan’s Travel Agency (0182), now under a new licence (0737) issued to Cormac J. Meehan t/a Meehan’s Travel Agency.

The TA licence listed as having expired on 30th April 2014 is number 0460 issued on 29th May 2013 to Joseph O’Brien, Ardcavan, Co Wexford.

In addition to the above, two other travel agency listings had branch office addresses deleted or added, while one made major changes to its list of trading names.

The listing for Club Travel Ltd (0054) had branch addresses at 80 Lower Clanbrassil Street, Dublin 8, and 1 North Main Street, Cork, deleted, while that for CTM Travel Ltd (0522) had Tennis Village, Killeen, Tralee, Co Kerry, added.

Shandon Travel Ltd (0252) retained 13 of its 26 trading names – deleting SIBLU, Pink Travel, Beacon Cruises, Airport Staff Travel, Timeless India, Holidays in India, Caribbean Blue, Staff Travel, Business Travel Direct, BTD, Heavenly Honeymoons, MYAMERICA, and MYTRAVELAGENT – and added one new one, The Family Holiday Centre.
