Flight schedules in and out of Dublin Airport appear to be returning to normal after the cold snap resulted in numerous delays and cancellations across the weekend due to the severe cold snap impacting the east coast of the country.
More than 140 inbound and outbound flights were cancelled at Dublin Airport on Friday as temperatures plummeted, followed by 50 inbound and outbound flights on Saturday.
Dublin Airport remained open and operational across the weekend, despite the cancellation.
Both Ryanair and Aer Lingus said – at the weekend – that they were working to minimise delays and cancellations and expected to continue flying the majority of their scheduled flights. Both have continually urged passengers to keep checking their flight status for any changes.
Ryanair said it saw some “very minor delays” yesterday.
Aer Lingus, in its latest update, said it continues to plan to operate all scheduled flights despite the ongoing weather challenges at Dublin Airport.
However, it has cancelled some of its UK regional services. A number of services at UK airports have been heavily hit due to bad weather in Britain.
Met Éireann currently has in place a Status Orange weather warning – forecasting extreme low temperatures and severe icy conditions – for much of the country, including the east coast.
